Blog Tour for Adam by Lena Bourne

Blog Tour: Adam
(of the Archers, Book 1)
(BBW Military Romance)
by: Lena Bourne
Jan 12th - Jan 19th

**Full length and standalone new adult romance novel.**

One week spent together in a secluded cabin. Two people scarred by their pasts. Can a chance encounter lead to love? Or is it just a moment in time, insignificant once it passes.

Taylor has just returned from a romantic vacation with her boyfriend. But instead of an “I miss you!” text from him, she gets one that’s clearly meant for another woman. Which is the only reason she lets a hot stranger kiss her on the sidewalk. It’s the one and only time they’ll ever see each other, so why not?
Adam is used to living life on his own terms, from leaving home at 16 to join the military, to returning now, eight years later, to take care of his mother. After that, he’s packing up and leaving again. The last thing he planned on was falling in love with a girl at first sight. But there she was, and now Taylor’s all he can think of.

They may be perfect for each other, but they both have pasts that will not stay buried, no matter how much they want them to. And when Adam’s dark past comes crashing between them, one week seems like a very short time. Even if it is a week of love, pleasure, and belonging like neither of them has known before.

Genre: BBW Romance, Military romance, New Adult Romance.

"Come down to Brooklyn, it'd be great to catch up, you said,” I yell over the loud music and general conversation to my buddy Jon. "Only we ain't doing much of that."

Jon grins at me, nods and shrugs. I don't think he heard a word I said.

The music's too loud and the place is packed, mostly with college girls like some real famous sexy boy will be playing tonight, instead of all these indie nobodies. And none of the girls look like they're here for one night stands. Not that I am. I'm here to hang out with Jon before he deploys again tomorrow night, so maybe it's good that the music's too loud to talk.

A hard knot is forming in my stomach from just seeing his regulation cut. It feels way too much like regret. But is the knot worse than the sickening feeling of still being on active duty? Right now, I don't know. And that pisses me off even more.

The music dies out to scattered applause, and sentences spoken too loud due the sudden drop in noise.

"So, you miss it yet, Adam?" Jon asks, taking a long swig of his beer. The knot in my stomach tightens. I hate that my first thought is, “Yes”. Mostly because I fucked it all up so bad I don't even have the option of reenlisting. An other than honorable discharge. And after my behavior in the last month, I was lucky to get that much. It means there's no way back. And not much of a way forward either. So I might as well not miss it.

I haven't seen Jon in almost nine months. Didn't even know if he was still alive until he called a few days ago.

"Whatever," I say since it sums it up pretty well. "So where are they sending you?" "The new team's meeting in Italy. We'll see from there." Jon takes another long

swallow of his beer. "I wish you were coming too."

I don't bother replying. The team used to be me, Jon, Eric, Philippe, Matthew, and Carlo. Along with Bjorn and Anders before them. Now it's just Jon. And five other guys. Jon got lucky because he was injured before the last mission. The one I alone survived, because I can't seem to die.

"This'll be my last deployment," Jon says, peeling the label off his beer and tearing it completely in the process.

"If they let you go," I say, feeling my teeth grind together.

Jon grins at me, but it's a sad thing more than anything else. "They'd have let you go too. You just have no patience, never did."

"I got plenty of patience for shit that warrants it. That shit did not. I couldn't even get a medical discharge, and I've had PTSD so long it's the new me. We all did."

"A few nightmares and shakes aren't PTSD, Adam," he says, in that clipped tone he always gets when he's nervous. And I've seen him shit scared of dying kinda nervous more times than I care to remember. "Why are we even talking about this? You wanted out, and you're out."

"So long as you've still got plenty of commitment left." I should stop goading him, because it never ends well with Jon. He's got a long fuse, but he packs a mean punch. And he's not shy with those. Not is he far from delivering one, judging by the flashing in his dark eyes.

Release Day Blitz for Keeper by Heather C. Mayers

Title: Keeper, Stranger Series Book 3
Author: Heather C. Myers
Genre: YA Dark Fantasy
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:
Danger lurks in the most familiar places.
When General Arbuckle reveals the peculiar existence to the world, the Academy of Peculiars is forced to close as a way to protect the faculty and students. Sophie Harper is more focused on the fact that her best friend, Jane, may actually be alive than Arbuckle and the United States military. Daryl's older and mental brother, Marvin, is quick to promise Jane's safe return after brokering a deal with Daryl and Ethan, the academy's dean. But something doesn't sit well with Sophie about Marvin, and if Jane wasn't involved, she's certain Daryl wouldn't have trusted his brother. On top of that, a familiar body winds up slaughtered at the academy gates. Now it's up to Sophie to figure out who could have done it and why, while dodging flying bullets and suspicious ex-boyfriends. Will wants nothing more to protect her; Sophie wants nothing more than find her friend - and herself.
In the epic conclusion to the Stranger Series, Sophie will learn that just because someone is ambitious does not mean they're evil, those that she trusts the most have the power to betray her with relative ease, and the best relationship she can ever hope to have is the one with herself.

Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 26 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real. I recently signed with Anchor Group Publishing, which will see two of my series being published this year. I've self-published over 15 books, with more on the way, so I'm familiar with both a hybrid-traditional publishing method as well as self-publishing.  I don't speak in third person (normally) nor do I wear glasses (except when I'm feeling particularly mischievous). I'm lucky to have found my soul mate at the ripe old age of 22, even though he frustrates me on purpose to get a reaction out of me. We live near Disneyland, have two rambunctious female puppies, and have a beautiful baby girl. He has two amazing boys, and has gotten me hooked on Smallville, watching soccer (okay, okay FOOTBALL - FC Barcelona, baby!), and Cancun Juice.

COLONY SERIES

Excerpt:
One Page Teaser from Eternal Service
Raymond smiled at Alex. It was a beautiful smile, not fake or forced. You can always tell when a smile is real. His black colored eyes held the smile, not just his luscious, full lips. Alex noticed his hair remained a bit damp, probably due to a last minute shower on his way over. His hair parted on the side tonight, and a curl of bangs hung lopsided onto his forehead. It gave him a Superman appearance. She always did like Superman. Alex knew her pulse sped up as she took in the visual strip tease in her mind. She thought back to their earlier conversation. Humans and vampires could have sex together. Sex. She swallowed hard. She hadn’t thought of having sex with a man in a long time. Her heart sped up even faster. She wondered if he could hear the beats. If he did, he didn’t show any reaction. He just sat sipping his wine, looking sexy as hell. Her hands still held her wineglass, so she took a gulp of wine, hoping to squelch the heat she felt within her. Instead, the drink fueled the flame. Would sex with a vampire be different than with a human? If there were a difference, she was betting it would be better. The sexual relationships she had in the past, if she could remember that far back, were moderately satisfying. Definitely not romance novel, page turning, steamy… but satisfying. Blinking a few times, she realized she was staring at his crotch. Could she be more obvious? She knew in her heart that she was going to take this promotion. She couldn’t start a romance with a team member, it wasn’t professional. She wasn’t that type of woman. Plus, there was no guarantee that he was interested in her such a way. He had treated her with nothing but respect. Then again, she couldn't deny her overwhelming attraction to him. His dark raven hair, soulful teal colored eyes, strong muscular jaw… they beckoned her. She bit her lower lip imagining the vampire shirtless, or even better, nude. “Alex?” Raymond asked. Alex looked up, making eye contact. “What?” “Are you okay? You’ve been quiet for several minutes.”

Blog Tour: Into the Darkness (Darkness Falls #1) by Kira Adams

Blog Tour: Into the Darkness
(Darkness Falls #1)
by Kira Adams
Jan 1st -5th

It was supposed to be a way to end the devastation in the Middle East, but instead a darkness has been unleashed unlike anything the world has ever seen.

Ike Glass is well versed in chaos, but even he is unprepared for what the world will become after the outbreak. Ace Cullen has been loyal to his country ever since he was brought to the United States as a young boy, but it’s difficult to stand by a country that can’t even take responsibility for their own actions. Phoenix Blue just wants a night of mindless sex…is that too much to ask? Always a black sheep, she shocks everyone as she finds the strength inside herself to protect the ones she cares about and fight to see another day. They were strangers when the virus took over, but tragedy will bring them together in ways they never thought possible as they descend into the darkness.

**Excerpts Please choose One**

EXCERPT #1 –

Phoenix

“The CDC is recommending everyone to stay indoors until further notice. We will have round the clock updates on the situation for you. There have now been more than two hundred and fifty confirmed cases of the virus in the state of Nevada alone, and a small number of cases in both California and Arizona.”

I throw my head in my hands. “What the hell is this thing?”

Ike’s response is not one I am expecting. “You don’t want to know.”

“Are we going to survive this?” I’m not sure that I’ve ever been portrayed as weak, but if I have, this is it.

Ike glances over at me with a tight line forming at his lips.

“They are emptying out the prisons in an attempt to have set check points for the uninfected to check in and be protected by the military. Two of the four state prisons have already been evacuated, with the other two to follow shortly.”

I can’t help the gasp that escapes my lips from the information being relayed through the radio. “What are they doing with the prisoners?”

“My guess? With this epidemic they have going on currently, prisoners are the least of their worries. They are putting them on the streets,” Ike answers, unusually calm and collected.

“Are you fucking joking me?” I can’t help my outburst. “The world is literally going to shit.”

The only saving grace I have is that the prisoners are branded with barcodes on the back of their necks. If I make sure to check every person we encounter, it won’t be a problem. But I think that is going to be easier said than done.

Ike clicks off the radio abruptly, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“You have anyone left?” Ike asks as we drive further into the darkness. It is barely 4:00 p.m. according to the clock on the dashboard, yet the sun set nearly an hour ago. And now, there is no radio to drown out the awkward silence.

“Just my little sister,” I answer, my eyes fixated on the stars twinkling idly by. They are so deceivingly beautiful, and out during the ugliest of nights.

“What’s her name?” Ike asks, turning the a/c up a bit.

“Rian, but I like to call her Ry. She says it always makes her feel special.” I feel a pang in my chest. I hadn’t realized just how much I had been missing my sister until the rest of my family was lost.

“Have you tried to get ahold of her?” Ike asks, glancing over at me.

“I don’t even know where to begin.” Ike gives me a strange look in response to my confession.

Silence falls upon the car as we continue driving without further explanations from one another. And that is how we leave it for at least another ten minutes. I think we are going to remain that way—in muted silence, when Ike surprises me by asking another question. “Where is she? Do we need to go pick her up somewhere?” The suggestion makes me feel like a bad sister.

“It’s not that easy,” I begin. “My sister is away at boarding school.”

Ike looks at me quickly with a somewhat shocked expression.

I shrug my shoulders. “She got into a lot of trouble…I probably wasn’t the best role model.”

I remember when my parents made the decision to send her to boarding school, I was so relieved. I knew that with her being in a completely different state, it made my Uncle’s access to her nearly impossible. While I hated the thought of her being alone in a new place without me, I was thankful she would have a safe environment to grow up in, somewhere she would feel safe.

We continue to drive in silence for a few more minutes before Ike decides to speak up again. “Where is she, Phoenix?”

“Florida.”

“How old is she?” Ike continues to try to make conversation.

“Thirteen.” I sigh, not wanting to talk. Ike doesn’t seem to notice.

“My baby was just seven years old…such a tragedy,” Ike chokes on the last word. I glance over at him just in time to notice him biting his lip and a tear trickling down his cheek; instantly feeling guilty for having any sort of attitude.

“Is she one of the lost souls now?” I find myself asking; not sure if I am overstepping boundaries or not.

He doesn’t answer me, just silently cries while staring out the windshield.

EXCERPT #2 –

Ike

I’m soaking wet when I wake up in the middle of the night, but as I reach up and touch my side of the bed and clothes, I realize it’s not me. Robyn is drenched in sweat; it is seeping through the bed sheets.

“Robyn.” I attempt to stir her by shaking her gently. “Robyn.”

I turn on my bedside lamp quickly, illuminating our dark room.

“Robyn, wake up.” When she finally stirs and opens her eyes—more than one vein has popped in each of her eyes. My biggest fear has just come true. I couldn’t protect her from the infection.

I’ve been careful not to come in contact with her saliva or blood, but what about my daughter? “Robyn, you’re soaking wet babe, you should change.”

I pull her up so she’s now seated on the bed, but she looks disoriented, confused, and even a bit agitated.

“Why did you wake me up?” she slurs, semi-coherent.

“You’re running a fever.” I hurriedly grab a change of clothes for her and help her into them before changing the bedspread and putting her back to bed. They said the virus attacks unhealthy hosts at an unusually fast rate…my wife has sickle cell anemia. The virus is probably feasting on her unhealthy insides. I shudder at the thought.

Quickly, I make my way out into the hallway and over to Asia’s room. She appears to be sleeping soundly, so I don’t wake her. I will check on her in the morning. I feel sick to my stomach as I grab a knife from the kitchen and carry it back to our bedroom. Instead of lying down next to Robyn, I end up seated in the rocking chair in the far corner of the room, silently watching her, gripping the knife tightly. I know I’m in denial. I know that I’ve already lost her, but I can’t do it. No matter who or what she is now, I can’t hurt my wife.

EXCERPT #3 –
Phoenix

Seven minutes left.

They just keep coming. Some look worse than others. Their decaying flesh and stench cannot be ignored, even if I tried.

I glance down at the pile of lifeless biters at my heels.

Come on Cullen! My mind is screaming.

It’s almost like they are multiplying; never-ending.

“Harlan! Behind you!” I shriek, before a knife flies straight past his face and into the biter’s skull.

I turn to look at Cullen, who is in a stance like he has just thrown it.

So he is skilled in throwing knives too? He is just full of surprises…

As I am still mid-deep in thought, I feel a burning sensation coming from my arm—similar to what it felt like when my brother sank his teeth into me. Yet this is a much more intense pain and without being aware of my actions, I hear myself scream out in pain.

“Phoenix!” I hear both Cullen and Harlan shout out in unison.

I look down at the biter who is currently trying to gnaw my arm off, and bring the butcher knife down onto her skull, cracking it in two. I catch her eyes right before I end it all for her, they are feral looking and bloodshot. She is only a teenager. Again, I will have to live with my guilt.

I instantly feel relief as her teeth release from my arm. Blood is gushing everywhere.

“What do we do?” Jerrica screams, while still attempting to keep the biters at bay.

“She’s infected; we can’t take her with us.” I hear Cullen say.

Asshole.

“We are not leaving her here to die—I’m not leaving her.” Harlan comes to my rescue.

The loss of blood is making me woozy; nauseous. I am stumbling from side to side. I want to tell them that I am immune according to what Ike told me, but my words come out in heavy slurs.

“Get it going!” I hear Harlan bark, through tightly closed eyes. I have never heard him so fierce.

“I just need to lie down for a second,” I say, again through slurred speech, mostly to myself before the hard ground and I meet in the roughest of ways. And then it all stops—it all goes black.
